Mrs. June Alvey, 85, of Boston, passed away Thursday, December 27, at the home of her son.
   She was born June 21, 1927 in Eaton, Ohio to Frank and Nancy Hanlon Wiseman. She was a 1945 graduate of Dixon High School and married Richard Dale Alvey, Sr. on August 4, 1945.
   Mrs. Alvey formerly worked at Belden before starting her family. She later was a pert-time cook at local eateries. She worked as a poll judge during elections and enjoyed pranking others. She was a longtime avid bowler and enjoyed watching soap operas.
   Mrs. Alvey will be missed by her husband of 67 years, Dick Alvey; 5 sons, Dale Alvey, Jr., of Dayton, OH; Don Alvey and wife, Joanne, of Eaton, OH; Steve Alvey and wife, Sandra, of Jacksonville, FL; Norman Alvey and wife, Ada, of New Paris, OH; Larry Alvey and wife, April, of Cambridge City; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, sister, Emogene Hensley, of St. Marys, OH; brother, Harold Wiseman, of Clifton, TN; and several nieces & nephews.
   Mrs. Alvey was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Karla Sullivan, in 2012; grandson, Travis Alvey, in 2005; great-grandchildren, Forrest in 2007 and Micah in 2001, and 8 brothers and sisters.
   A funeral ceremony will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 31, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.
   Family and friends may gather for visitation from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. on Monday, December 31, at the funeral home.

We are so sorry to hear about June. She was a very special lady and will be missed by many. What a great mom she was to all you kids. We would be there with you today but we are both ill with a virus, but our thoughts and prayers are with all the family. Thinking of you. Love, Darrel & Dana
