Troy Young

Troy Wayne Young, 69, of Richmond, entered into eternal life on Sunday, September 19, 2021.

Troy was born in East Bernstadt, Laurel County, Kentucky on April 28, 1952 to Raymond and Ida Mae Moore Young. He worked at Philco Ford/Visteon for 32 years, retiring in 2006. He married the love of his life, Connie Sue Johnson, on July 22, 1974.

Troy loved spending time with his family, especially his pride and joy Jason. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR and dirt late model racing. He would never turn down the opportunity to tell a good joke. Through the years, he had many memorable trips to various casinos all around the United States with his family and friends.

Troy will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of 47 years, Connie S. Young; son & daughter-in-law, Jason & Erica Young; brother, Wayne Frye; brother, Marvin Young & his longtime companion, Vickie; sister, Reatta Lewis; brother, Ernie Young & wife, Debbie; brother-in-law, John C. Johnson; nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Jana Sue Young; four grandchildren including Hayden Wayne Young; sister, Ruby Frye; nephews Tommy Raymond and Jeff Lewis; brother-in-law, Daniel Lewis and mother-in-law, Rachel Johnson Lahue.

Public visitation for Troy will be from 3-5 pm on Thursday, September 23, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Following the visitation, there will be a procession to Goshen Cemetery for a graveside service.
