Allen J. Myers, 91, of Fountain City, passed away peacefully in his home, on Saturday, July 19, 2014.
   He was born in Knightstown, Indiana on January 2, 1923 to Calvin and Ruth Allen Myers. He was raised in Richmond and graduated from Richmond High School in 1941. He enlisted in the US Navy after Pearl Harbor and served as a flight navigator in the Pacific Theatre during World War Two. He returned home to marry the former Onda Faye Swain on December 7, 1946.
   Allen began working as a draftsman at NATCO and retired 42 years later as a project engineer. He then worked two years at Borg-Warner in Muncie. He was a member of the Fountain City Friends Church and was a charter member of the Levi Coffin House Association, where he had volunteered countless hours. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a member and past president of the NATCO 25-year club. He enjoyed camping, fishing and bowling when health permitted and enjoyed traveling with Onda Faye to visit historical sites.
   Allen will be missed by his sons, Doug Myers, Scott Myers and his wife, Jill; and Eric Myers and his wife, Tammy; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
   Allen was preceded in death by his parents, wife, on June 26, 2004; son, Calvin Myers, on August 30, 1981; grandson, Jared Carson, on August 21, 2001; sister, Dorothy Stamback and infant brother, James Myers.
   A funeral ceremony will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, in the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.
   Family & friends may gather for visitation from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22, at the funeral home.
