Mrs. Barbara “Bobbie” Wolfe, 84, of Lynn, passed away on Sunday, January 24, at Reid Hospital.
She was born July 5, 1925 in Richmond, Indiana to Harold and Nina Ellington Bane. She was a 1943 graduate of Hagerstown High School and attended nursing school. She was united in marriage to Chester M. Wolfe in August 1951. They shared nearly 51 years together before his death on July 26, 2002.
Bobbie was a member of the First English Lutheran Church in Richmond. She was a retired nurse, having worked many years in the offices of Dr. Ebbinghouse and Dr. Deckard. She enjoyed playing the piano and caring for her cats.
Bobbie will be missed by her sons, David Wyka, of Richmond, and Thomas Wolfe and his wife, Eva, of Eaton, Ohio; 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 1 sister, Rebecca Kelsey and her husband, Mike, of Urbana, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 1 sister, Marilyn Vornauf.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted by Pastor Brian Derrer and Tom Canon at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 30 at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Spartanburg Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, January 30, at the funeral home.
