Boyd Clark

Mr. Boyd L. Clark, 94, of Fountain City, passed away on Saturday, December 5, at Wellbrooke of Westfield in Westfield, Indiana.

Boyd was born June 24, 1926, in Randolph County, Indiana to Filbert Verl & Lois Johnson Clark. He was a 1944 graduate of Fountain City High School. He was a US Navy veteran of World War Two, serving from 1944-46. He married the former Ceinwen Phelps on September 20, 1946.

Boyd was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Richmond. He served in many capacities but enjoyed ushering the most. Boyd was a self-employed farmer until he hired on at Belden, from where he retired after 32 years of service. He served 15 years on the board of the Willow Grove Cemetery Association, many of them as President. Boyd moved to Fishers in March, 2020 to live with his daughter’s family. He had lived at Wellbrooke since September. Boyd was a big IU Basketball fan.

More than anything, Boyd loved spending time with his grandson, AJ.

Boyd will be missed by his daughter & son-in-law, Jaynee & Steve Strycker; son, Steve Clark; grandson, A.J. “Scooter” Strycker; brother, Murlin Clark; and nieces & nephews.

Boyd was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 66 years, Ceinwen Clark; and sister, Joyce Allen.

Private services for Boyd will be conducted at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.

Friends and family are invited to attend via the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home Facebook page beginning at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 9.

I have known Boyd since high school, and have always thought highly of him, and appreciated his friendship over the years. Our wives shared a good friendship over many years also before they passed away. I have missed Boyd since he left the area. He was a Good man!
