Robert E. “Bud†Stephens, Jr., 63, formerly of Richmond, passed away on Thursday, January 12, at The Villages Regional Medical Center in The Villages, Florida, due to complications from heart disease.
He was born in Richmond, Indiana on April 14, 1953 to Robert E. “Bob†Sr. and Lova Jean Fields Stephens, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a 1972 graduate of Northeastern High School.
Bud worked in the Tool & Die department at Dana Corp. He loved IU Basketball and was also an avid bass fisherman, hunter and golfer.
Bud will be missed by his daughter, Tricia Starr, son & daughter-in-law, Brad & Shannon Stephens; grandson, Brandon Stephens; sister & brother-in-law, Nilah & Mark Mikesell.
Family & friends may gather for visitation from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, January 22, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City.
In lieu of flowers, Bud would want folks to donate to something supportive of wildlife conservation. DNR’s GoFishIN or ProjectWET, Richmond Conservation Club, Ducks Unlimited or some other organization you believe worthy, pay Bud’s love of the outdoors forward.
