Calvin J. Brumbaugh, Sr., 78, formerly of Richmond, passed away on Thursday, August 16, in Perham, Minnesota.
Born October 22, 1928 in Whitewater, Indiana, he was the son of Elmer and Ruby Small Brumbaugh, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a US Army veteran. He was married to the former Joan I. Heilman on August 7, 1948, a union which was blessed with two sons. He lived most of his life in the Richmond and Indianapolis communities. He was formerly employed with Indiana Gear Works and later retired from Reliance Electric in South Carolina. He enjoyed his retirement years traveling with RV to favorite fishing destinations, wintering in Florida and summering in Minnesota.
Mr. Brumbaugh will be missed by his wife, Joan; two sons. Calvin Brumbaugh, Jr. and his wife, Deborah, of St. Cloud, FL and James Brumbaugh, of Carmel, IN; 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mary Wissler, of Richmond, IN; Phyllis Alexander, of Richmond and Elizabeth Grose, of Punta Gorda, FL; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Brumbaugh was preceded in death by 1 sister, Eva Sorchevich and 3 brothers, Ray, Kenneth and Carl Brumbaugh.
A funeral ceremony was conducted by Pastor Randy Brady at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City.
