Carmen Ramsdale

June 16, 1917 — October 30, 2007

Mrs. Carmen Ramsdale, age 90, of Greenfield, formerly of Webster Township, passed away at 5:15 a.m. on Tuesday, October 30, at Ellison House in Greenfield.


She was born June 16, 1917, in Billingsville, Indiana, the daughter of Ellsworth and Opha M. Burgess Ardery, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a graduate of College Corner High School and attended business school. She was a long-time employee of INA in Richmond prior to her retirement. Mrs. Ramsdale was affiliated with the Christian Church and was a member of Epsilon Omega Phi Tau Sorority. She enjoyed sewing and solving word search puzzles.


Mrs. Ramsdale is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sue Ann and Larry Bowmer; grandsons, Larry Bowmer, Jr. and his wife, Mary, and Robert Bowmer and great-grandchildren Brittany Bowmer, Brandon Bowmer, Shelby Bowmer and Robert Bowmer II, all of Greenfield.


A funeral ceremony will be conducted by Fred Girdwood at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 2, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Webster Cemetery.


Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-8 pm on Thursday, November 1, at the funeral home, where a sorority service will be conducted at 8:00 p.m.


In lieu of flowers, contributions are encouraged to the Shiloh Christian Church, 4980 South 500 East, Greenfield, Indiana 46140.
