Carolyn Sue Moore

   Mrs. Carolyn Sue Moore, 87, passed away on Friday, October 14 at Ambassador Healthcare in Centerville.

   Born on October 10, 1935 in Middleboro, Indiana, she was the daughter of Homer J. and Elizabeth “Libby” M. Clear Lacey. She was a 1953 graduate of Williamsburg High School and became the bride of Duane D. “D.D.” Moore on May 29, 1955.

   Carolyn formerly worked at Voyles News Agency. She enjoyed playing cards, watching TV and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

   Carolyn will be missed by her daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl & Arthur Brown and Toby & Dewey Wright; grandchildren, Sarah Moran and Erika Hadler; four great-grandchildren; niece, Lisa Newnam.

   Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, D.D. Moore in 2010; son-in-law, Dennis Moran in 2014; and two sisters, Barbara Ann Lacey in 1926 and Mary Jean Kirtley in 2018.

   Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m.–12:00 Noon on Saturday, October 22, at the funeral home.

   Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, October 22, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Spartanburg Cemetery.
