Ceinwen ClarkMrs. Ceinwen Clark, 86, of Fountain City, passed away on Sunday, June 17, at Reid Hospital.
She was born October 11, 1925, in Wayne County to Carl J. & Mary E. Davies Phelps. She was a 1943 graduate of Fountain City High School and joined the World War Two Cadet Nursing Corps. She graduated from the Reid Hospital School of Nursing in 1946 and cared for patients until 1954, when she left nursing to devote herself to raising her family. She returned to nursing in 1977 before retiring in 1987. She will be remembered as a very loving mother and grandmother.
Ceinwen was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Richmond, where she had served on various committees and served as a Sunday school teacher.
Ceinwen will be missed by her husband of 66 years, Boyd Clark, of Fountain City; daughter & son-in-law, Jaynee & Steve Strycker, of Fishers; son, Steven Clark, of Fountain City; grandson, A.J. Strycker, of Fishers; brother & sister-in-law, Jack & Doris Phelps; nieces & nephews.
Ceinwen was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, Giles Phelps.
Rev. Pam Wooden will conduct a funeral ceremony at 12:00 noon on Thursday, June 21 at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery in Fountain City.
Family & friends may gather from 10:00 a.m â12:00 noon Thursday, June 21 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be sent to First United Methodist Church 300 National Road West, Richmond, IN 47374; or Reid Hospital Foundation for Hospice Care, 1100 Reid Parkway, Richmond, IN 47374.
What an honor it was to get to know Ceinwen. Such a sweet lady who always was concerned about others. We will miss her but we know she is with our heavenly father. God bless Ceinwen and Boyd and the family.
