Charles W. Provance, Jr., 73, of Richmond, passed away on Friday morning, August 31.
   Born January 6, 1945 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Charles W. Sr. and Mildred Mitchell Provance, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a US Army veteran.
   Charles managed Culligan Water for 22 years before becoming an over-the-road truck driver, spending 20 years as an owner/operator. He was a member of the Richmond Conservation Club and enjoyed camping. He loved NASCAR and was a loyal Jeff Gordon fan. He was a happy-go-lucky person who loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. His best times happened when they gathered and filled his home.
   Charles’ family wishes to thank his awesome caregivers in Auguste’s Cottage at Rosebud Village.
   Charles will be missed by his wife of 42 years, the former Sharon Clabaugh, whom he married on July 31, 1976; children, Randy Marquis and his wife, Melissa, Frank Mitchell “Mitch” Provance and his wife, Michelle, LeAnn Bennett and her husband, Mike, Tammy Marquis; Charles Provance and his wife, Peggy, Curtis Provance and his wife, Bonnie, Eric Provance and wife, Karen, and Christopher Provance; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, sisters, Della Sponsel, Helen Kaufman and Vicki Day; brothers, Ed Provance and Robert Provance and nieces & nephews.
   Charles was preceded in death by his parents, one grandchild, Jonathan Provance, and sisters Mary Skelton and Alice Skelton.
   Charles’ life will be celebrated by Pastor Matt Smith from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 13 at the Mobile Manor Community Building, 610 Indiana Avenue in Richmond. Guests are asked to wear their favorite NASCAR apparel or something plaid.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are encouraged for Auguste’s Cottage, care of Rosebud Village, 2050 Chester Boulevard, Richmond, IN 47374.
