Darlene Boomershine, 57, of Richmond, passed away Sunday, July 22 at Golden Living Center Oak Ridge in Richmond.
   Darlene was born May 2, 1955 in Richmond, Kentucky to Charles and Rebecca Gordon Wyman. Her mother later married John Wallace of Richmond, Indiana, who raised her as his own.
   Darlene was a graduate of Gwinn High School in Michigan. She married Philip Boomershine on November 12, 1972 and traveled with Philip and their family throughout his military career, finally returning to Richmond in 1992 where they have lived since. Darlene was a homemaker and enjoyed shopping, talking to the children and grandchildren and making quilts and things for family and friends.
   She was proud of her graduating from high school with honors and of the letter she received from the President for her support during Philip’s military career.
   Darlene will be missed by her husband of nearly 40 years, Philip Boomershine, of Richmond; son, Michael Boomershine and his wife, Casy, of Biloxi, Mississippi; daughter, Tina Myers and her husband, Mike, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 5 grandchildren; sister, Cheryl Powell, of Richmond and several nieces and nephews.
   Darlene was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters, Marlene Voiles and Kathy Harrison.
   A funeral ceremony will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Lutherania Cemetery in Richmond.
   Family and friends may gather for visitation from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, at the funeral home.
