Darlene Herron

Darlene Herron, 64, of Hilliard, Florida, passed away suddenly at home in her sleep on August 17, 2026.

Darlene was born on October 26, 1961, in Richmond, Indiana, to Daniel Ledger Skinner and Ruth Marlene Yohey Skinner.

   At the time of her passing, Darlene was living in Hilliard, Florida, with her husband and the true love of her life, Mike Herron. Their life together was built on friendship, love, devotion, and a deep commitment to caring for one another.

   Darlene was the proud and devoted mother of two children: Kenny “Andrew” Hutton, known to family and friends as Andrew, and his wife, Kait Hutton, of Richmond, Indiana, along with their seven children, Kenneth “Fox”, Kendra, Eiley, Coy, Miyka, Malikyi and Miakota; and Jeni Hutton of Randolph County, Indiana, along with her five children, Ethan, Gracie, Sophie, Makayla and Carter; brother, Darrell Skinner & wife, Mary; sister, Debbie Benavidez. A brother, Daniel Skinner, Jr. and two half-siblings, Marty Lee Cain and Charlene Perdue, preceded Darlene in death.

   A dedicated professional, Darlene was working remotely as a Sales Administrator for Socket Fiber Internet in Columbia, Missouri. She was highly respected for her exceptional attention to detail and her commitment to supporting both the executive and sales teams. Throughout her career, Darlene held several Sales Coordinator positions following her retirement from Meijer Grocery, bringing the same dedication, organization, and caring spirit to everyone she worked with.

   Above all else, Darlene was a proud and devoted mother and grandmother. She loved following her grandchildren’s sporting achievements and took great joy in saving photographs and stories she found online so she could celebrate their accomplishments. Her family was her heart, and she cherished every opportunity to stay connected with the people she loved. Darlene also found happiness in the simple beauty of life. She loved planting flowers and caring for the plants in her yard, creating beauty wherever she could. She was truly one of the most selfless, compassionate, and caring women anyone could know. Her kindness was genuine, her heart was generous, and her love for her family and friends was unwavering.

   Darlene leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and devotion. She will be remembered for the countless lives she touched, the family she loved so deeply, and the kindness she so freely gave to others.

   She will be greatly missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, family, friends, coworkers, and all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

   Though Darlene left this world far too soon, the love she gave and the memories she created will remain forever in the hearts of those she loved.

   Darlene’s life will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19 at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US Highway 27, Fountain City.

   Family and friends may gather from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, at the funeral home.
