Dewain G. “Bud†Hall, 78, of Richmond, formerly of Fountain City, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014 in Richmond.
He was born on October 22, 1935 in Marshville, West Virginia to Jesse Guy and Francina Vianna Alestock Hall, both of whom preceded him in death.
Bud formerly served in the National Guard and was a truck driver for 52 years. When better health permitted, he enjoyed fishing, boating, riding motorcycles and going to races, especially at the dirt tracks.
Bud will be missed by his daughters, Shirley Lindsey, Brenda Hall (John Chase), Sandy Garrett, Becky Coyle (Steve), Barbie Presley, Roberta Hall and Betty Ryan (Larry); sons, Ed Hall (Clarinda) and William Hall; 26 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Delores Weatherby.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, former wife, Barbara J. Hall; daughter, Linda Smith; son, Bobby Hall and granddaughter, Rhonda Smith.
Pastor Troy Beckner will conduct a funeral ceremony at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 30, in the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.
Family & friends may gather for visitation from 4-7 pm on Friday, August 29, at the funeral home.
