Dianne S. Chandler, 68, of Richmond, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 10, with her sisters at her side.
She was born on October 7, 1945 in Richmond to Richard E. “Gene†and Janet Hunnicutt Bowmer. Dianne was a 1964 graduate of Williamsburg High School and received her Bachelor of Arts in English Education from Purdue University in 1968.
Dianne recently retired after 28 years as Director of Human Resources at Indiana University East, where she was responsible for developing the HR program from just 200 employees to its current roster of over 800 employees. She enjoyed watching college basketball and ice skating as well as cross-stitching.
Dianne will be missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Jennifer Chandler; grandchildren, Madison Chandler, Kirstie and Austin Williams; sisters, Jeri Toschlog and Barb Bowmer; brother, Larry Bowmer; and nieces and nephews.
Dianne was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial reception will be held between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, in Whitewater Hall on the IU East Campus.
