Ellen Lynch, 93, passed away on Tuesday morning, February 3, at Reid Health.
She was born on May 7, 1932, in Clay County, Kentucky to John T. & Essie McCreary Wagers.
Ellen was a hard worker and a loyal warrior. In her youth, she was a cook at a drive-in restaurant and later worked in canning factories. She worked for many years at PRC in Richmond from 1964 until her retirement. In retirement, she worked in local nursing homes in patient activities.
Ellen took great joy in cooking for her family. A favorite spread was the many southern breakfasts she prepared, serving fried apples, biscuits and red-eye gravy, country ham and other fixins.
Ellen will be missed by her; son & daughter-in-law, Dale & Brenna Lynch; daughters & sons-in-law, Eunice & Paul Thompson and Brenda & Jay Campbell; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
Ellen was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 72 years, Olen Lynch; parents, son, David Lynch, Sr.; granddaughter, Christina Nicole “Niki” Campbell; and siblings Tiney Wagers, Prudie Smith and George Wagers.
A homegoing ceremony will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 9, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Goshen Cemetery.
Family & friends may gather for visitation from 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 9, at the funeral home.
