Loved this lady, went to church with her at Chester Heights U.M. Church. Could listen to her play piano forever,, she made them keys talk and oh what they could say. My thoughts and prayers go out to all her family.

My sincere condolences to Elmas family. My dad (Bob Harrison) and Elma were classmates at Whitewater and life-long friends. I have fond childhood memories of get-togethers at Elma and JBs filled with music, laughter, and friendship. It seemed she always had a playful smile and a twinkle in her eye. She continued to be a steadfast friend throughout the years. She eloquently spoke at first my moms (Jewell) funeral and later at my dads. She lived an extraordinary life of music, laughter, and love! We will miss her!

Elma went to school with my father and his brothers, as she called them - The Barker Boys. I loved hearing her play at church and her wonderful outgoing personality! Charles, Eugene, Tom and Howard Barker welcomed her home to heaven - I will be praying for you all. Sherri Barker Sweet

Elma and Reba (my grandmother) grew up together attending Middleboro and spent many Sunday afternoons at each other's homes. They attended Whitewater and sang together. My favorite story was when they and two other girls left school during their study hall to get music for an upcoming event. They probably could have gotten permission to go, but they left and were planning to be back before the period was up. I think it was Mildred who called the school to give Elma a message, which of course caused the administration to wonder where Elma and Reba, as well as the others, were since they were nowhere to be found in the school building. Love to all of the family during this time.

Dennis, Jim and Karen
First of all my condolences to you and your families. My prayers are with you all.
I met your mom and dad when I was quite young. My dad helped your dad build a couple of houses in New Paris. We would come visit on the farm and all us kids would play outside. However my favorite time was when we came inside, stood around the piano to sing and listen to your mom play. Sweet memories!
