   Eva Leta Hiatt, 83, formerly of Lynn, passed away on Thursday, April 1.

   She was born in Wayne County, Indiana on August 23, 1937, to James Clifford & Gladys Mae Alberston Clements, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a 1955 graduate of Union High School. She grew up in Carlos and lived in Lynn before moving to Lapel.

   Eva Leta married Alvin E. Hiatt on March 24, 1956. They were blessed with three children and nearly 40 years of marriage before his death on February 24, 1995. Eva Leta formerly worked in the cafeteria at Randolph Southern High School and Friends Fellowship Community. She was formerly the dietary manager at Harbor Manor and worked at the Area 9 Meal Site. She was a former member of the Randolph County Home Ec. Club.

   Eva Leta will be missed by her daughters, Roxie Thomas, Cindy Beasley (Harold) and Anna Marie Hiatt; 3 grandchildren, Aaron (Amanda) Thomas, Adam Thomas and Amanda Thomas; great-granddaughter, McKenna Thomas; several nieces & nephews including special nieces Penny Gray, Robin Shepard, Mandy Norman and Kathy Cummings; and special nephews Jerry Pierce, Kevin Clements and Wayne Norman.

   Eva Leta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

   Family & friends may gather from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 6 at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City.

   Eva Leta’s life will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 6 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester.

   While all services are open to the public, the Celebration of Life will also be livestreamed via the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home Facebook page, at 1:00 pm for those unable to attend.

   Memorial contributions are encouraged for Southern Care Hospice, 3415 West Fox Ridge Lane, Muncie, IN 47304.
