F. Gayle Hunt

F. Gayle “Chief” Hunt, 84, passed away Wednesday, February 22, at his residence.
    He was born May 31, 1927 in Darke County, Ohio to N. Roberts and Oda Irene (Thomas) Hunt, both of whom preceded him in death.
   Gayle was a lifelong Darke County resident who farmed and raised hogs for many years. He was a faithful member of the Whitewater United Methodist Church, having served as Sunday school superintendent for many years. He was an avid bowler and sports fan. He formerly served as the leader of the New Madison Summer Rec League and umpired many little league baseball games.  
   Gayle will be missed by his wife, Barbara Hunt, New Paris; daughter, Jane Medaris, New Paris; son & daughter-in-law, Ronald & Nancy Hunt, Clinton, SC; 6 grandchildren, Jodi (Jim) Hansen Jonathan (Liz) Medaris Hannah (Kelly) Miller Luke Medaris, Christina Hunt and Tamera Hunt; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Anderson, Lake Wales, FL and Mary Ann Bright, New Madison, OH; and several nieces & nephews.
   A funeral ceremony will be conducted by Rev. Jim Truelove at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 25 at the Whitewater United Methodist Church on Whitewater Road in Whitewater. Interment will follow in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris.
   Family & friends may gather for visitation from 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm Saturday, February 25 at the church.
   Memorial contributions may be sent to the Whitewater United Methodist Church or Tri-Village Rescue Services, 320 North Main Street, New Madison, OH 45346.

Barb, we would like to extend our deepest sympathy to you and your family. Mike and I worked with you at Heritage House years ago. We have often thought of you and Gayle. Your marriage was an inspiration to two newly married people. Our prayers are with you.

Janie, Our family offers our deepest sympathy to the Hunt family.  Although I didn't know Gayle personally, we are related by marriage as Daryle Medaris is my nephew and all of the children my great neices and nephews.  I know how it hurts to lose a parent as we lost both of our within 2 years of each other.  Our prayers are with you.

Jane ; I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember going to your mom and dads and getting that pickup load of corn ready for the freezer. Your dad always had a smile for everyone.

So sorry of your loss.  We all know that Gayle is resting in peace now in heaven.  
I pray that you will now rest and relax.  You have been an angel for all these years and gave Gayle such wonderful care.

So sorry for your loss. I have wonderful memories of Abel reunions. I remember Gayle always having a smile on his face and a ball glove in his hand - good times. My prayers are with you all.

Aunt Barb I am so sorry for your loss and mine.  Uncle Gayle was a great man and could always make me laugh as a kid.  I thought of the two of you everyday since his stroke and would include a prayer for both of you.  I want to add that you have been so wonderful to him and have cared for him so lovingly, I want to thank you from my heart for all you have done these past years.  Please get some rest as I know your health has not been good and you kept on taking care of him.

To:  Janie.......I am so sorry for the loss of your father.  I lost mine this past summer and it is very hard.  I have such wonderful memories of your father.
