F. Gayle Hunt

F. Gayle “Chief” Hunt, 84, passed away Wednesday, February 22, at his residence.
    He was born May 31, 1927 in Darke County, Ohio to N. Roberts and Oda Irene (Thomas) Hunt, both of whom preceded him in death.
   Gayle was a lifelong Darke County resident who farmed and raised hogs for many years. He was a faithful member of the Whitewater United Methodist Church, having served as Sunday school superintendent for many years. He was an avid bowler and sports fan. He formerly served as the leader of the New Madison Summer Rec League and umpired many little league baseball games.  
   Gayle will be missed by his wife, Barbara Hunt, New Paris; daughter, Jane Medaris, New Paris; son & daughter-in-law, Ronald & Nancy Hunt, Clinton, SC; 6 grandchildren, Jodi (Jim) Hansen Jonathan (Liz) Medaris Hannah (Kelly) Miller Luke Medaris, Christina Hunt and Tamera Hunt; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Anderson, Lake Wales, FL and Mary Ann Bright, New Madison, OH; and several nieces & nephews.
   A funeral ceremony will be conducted by Rev. Jim Truelove at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 25 at the Whitewater United Methodist Church on Whitewater Road in Whitewater. Interment will follow in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris.
   Family & friends may gather for visitation from 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm Saturday, February 25 at the church.
