Glenda Nicholson

Glenda C. Nicholson, 87, of Richmond, passed away at Reid Health on Wednesday, July 2.

Glenda was born in Appalachia, Virginia, on September 7, 1937, to Lawrence J., Sr. & Ethel L. Reed Brown. Glenda graduated from Whitewater High School with the Class of 1956. She married Merrill E. Nicholson on November 11, 1956. Their 68-year marriage was blessed with two children.

Glenda was a proud homemaker and farm wife who worked alongside Merrill. She attended Arba Friends Church and Bible Study Fellowship in Richmond.

Glenda will be missed by her husband, Merrill; daughter & son-in-law, Lynn Marie & Rob Johnson; son, Steven Eugene Nicholson; grandchildren, Ryan (Rachel) Johnson, Aaron Johnson and Brandon Nicholson; great-grandchildren, Willow Nicholson and Rozlyn Johnson; sisters, Shirley (Larry) Berry, Jan Statzer, Sarah Brown and Teresa (David) Sebert; brother, Charles J. Brown; and many nieces & nephews.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Bennie Brown, Jack Brown, Lawrence J. Brown, Jr. and Thomas W. Brown, and sisters, Sonia Hayes and Doris Brown.

Glenda’s life will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9 at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.

Family and friends may gather from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are encouraged for Arba Friends Church, 10632 South Arba Pike, Lynn, IN 47355.
