James W. “Jim” Bunger, Sr., passed away in the comfort of his home, surrounded by loved ones, on Thursday evening, April 23.
Jim was born in Richmond, Indiana on April 15, 1940. Jim was raised on his family farm near Webster by his maternal grandparents, William J. & Fannie Mae Bond Feasel. He was a 1959 graduate of Webster High School.
Jim was an over-the-road truck driver, logging over a million miles for Kemper, Penske and Zumstein over his 40+ year career. He also farmed and enjoyed spending time with his many close friends and neighbors. After retirement, he often drove for the Amish. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed playing Euchre, riding his trike, boating and fishing and was a member of the Richmond Conservation Club. He was also a member of the Liar’s Club at the The Family Diner in Fountain City.
Jim will be missed by his wife of 40 years, Barbara J. Urich Bunger; his children, Robin (Bubba) Urich, Theresa (David) McSweeney, Tammy (Steve) Orr, Melinda (Brian) Patton, Angie (Mike) Stoneroad, RaeAnn (Anthony) Kennedy, LeeAnn (Keith) Plyley, Victoria (Troy) Hoffman, "Jimmy" Bunger Jr, Jeff (Carol) Bunger and Chris (Timi) Bunger; 27 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren plus one on the way; sisters, Alice (David) Jones and Barbara Glomb; and several nieces, nephews and close friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother, Martha Alice Feasel Wehrley; first wife, Connie Sue Hofacker Bunger; grandchildren, Hailey Lesher and James "Codey" Bunger; and his good friends, "Big Brother" Bill Kirkman and Bob Wright, Sr.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, August 1st at Middlefork Reservoir 1-6pm.
