James (Doug) Wilson

Mr. James (Doug) Wilson, 73, Lynn, passed away Monday, February 25, at his residence.


Born March 12, 1934 in Rickman, Tennessee, he was the son of Carson and Marjorie Willis Wilson. He attended Hagerstown High School before enlisting in the US Army in 1953. He was married to the former Tillie Hammontree on June 15, 1956. He enjoyed a career in the concrete industry beginning with DeBolt Concrete Company in 1960 as a dispatcher and driver. He later was manager of Randolph Concrete in Winchester before working for Stonehenge, where he retired in 1999. Mr. Wilson was a member of the First Church of Christ in Lynn. He enjoyed fishing and flying with his sons.


Mr. Wilson will be missed by his wife, Tillie, of Lynn; sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Annette Wilson, of Spartanburg, Brad and Cindy Wilson, of Yoder; two grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Adam and Sara Wilson, of Greenfield, Chad and Tina Wilson, of Lynn; two great-grandsons, Daegon Wilson and Skyler Wilson; sisters, Reba McConnell, of Carmel; Joan Dale (Voyle) and Sharon Smith (David), of Hagerstown; brother, Butch Wilson (Pam), of Losantville, and several nieces and nephews.


Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Donald, Darrell and Maurice Wilson.


A funeral ceremony will be conducted by Pastor Harry Holloway and Pastor Paul Nichols at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 29, at the First Church of Christ, 206 West Church Street, Lynn. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery in Fountain City.


Family and friends may gather for visitation from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, and 10-11 a.m. on Friday, February 29, at the church.
