Jeffrey L. âBearâ Henson, 64, of Eaton, Ohio, formerly of the Fountain City area, passed away on Friday, October 16, at the Eaton-Preble County Medical Center.
Jeff was born on February 10, 1951 in Muncie, Indiana to Paul C. and Pauline White Henson, both of whom preceded him in death. Jeff was a 1969 graduate of Northeastern High School and later studied through the Indiana Brotherhood of Electrical Workers to become a journeyman electrician. He had formerly worked as an electrician at Reid Hospital.
Jeff enjoyed his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a gardener and enjoyed riding his tractor to visit with his neighbors. He also enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and grilling and smoking meat. He was an avid card player, often playing with his friends in the card club at Lakengren and at VFW Post 1577 in Camden, Ohio, where he was a member.
Jeff will be missed by his wife of 42 years, Mary Nufrio Henson, who he married on June 2, 1973; his daughter & son-in-law, Emily & Anthony Cruz; son & daughter-in-law, Adam & Lacey Henson; three grandchildren, Josie Cruz, Lyla Henson and Adalyn Henson; brother & sister-in-law, Paul J. & Sandy Henson; niece, Shannon Woods and her husband, John; great-nephew, Theo and his canine companion, Matthew.
Jeff will be remembered in a funeral ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.
Family & friends may gather for visitation from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, at the funeral home.
