Mr. James J. Bowman, 76, formerly of Richmond, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, May 22, with his wife and daughters at his side.
Jim was born on September 24, 1948, in Hartford City, Indiana to Woodrow Wilson & Esther Lucille Banter Bowman, both of whom preceded him in death.
Jim was a member of the last graduating class at Williamsburg High School in 1967. He enjoyed a career as a machinist in the camshaft plant of Dana Corporation. Following retirement, he spent many winters in Florida where he could be found playing golf, shooting pool and fishing.
Jim will be missed by his wife of 33 years, Vicki Bowman daughters & sons-in-law, Leslie & Steve Werking, Krista Retter & Brian Hill, Jami & Jimmie Smith and Tara & Ryan Rahe; son, Jeff Lathrop; 8 grandchildren, Chris, Cole, Izzy, Megan, Mackenzie, Tanner, Cael and Katelyn; 3 great-grandchildren; brother & sister-in-law, Bob & Brenda Bowman.
A memorial visitation for Jim will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City.
