Jimmie Acton

Jimmie V. Acton, 91, of Lynn, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Sunday morning, August 16.

Jimmie was born on July 18, 1935, in Eaton, Ohio to Dora Vernon Acton & Elnere Enola Rust Duvall. He was a 1953 graduate of Fountain City High School.

Jimmie was a member of the New Liberty Christian Church near Lynn. He was a lifelong farmer and was also a truck driver. In his younger years, he was active in the tractor pulling community. Jimmie and his wife, Zennith, who he married on August 20, 1979, were often found dining at one of their favorite area restaurants.

Jimmie will be missed by his wife of 47 years, Zennith his children, Gary Acton & wife, Lori, Daniel Acton, Jennifer Dinkins; Zennith’s children, Steve Moore & wife, Alisa, Jackie Stuckey & husband, Steve, and Bobbie Smith; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Steven Charles Acton, Richard A. “Rick” Acton and David Acton, sons-in-law, Oscar Dinkins and Marion Smith.

Public visitation for Jimmie will be from Noon until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City.

Jimmie’s family will honor his life with a private service. Interment will follow in New Liberty Cemetery.
