Mr. John R. “Rick” Buroker, 77, of Williamsburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, March 5.
Rick was born in Richmond, Indiana on September 10, 1948, the son of John C. & Betty J. Webb Buroker. He was a 1967 graduate of Richmond High School and attended IU East.
Rick formerly worked at Richmond Gear Works before accepting a position at Belden, where he retired as a cabling operator after 43 years of service. He was a very talented artist with many paintings and drawings in his portfolio. He enjoyed spending time with his family and listening to rock-n-roll music.
Rick will be missed by his wife of 58 years, Linda Sue Meyers Buroker, whom he married on September 2, 1967; daughters, Angie Smith & husband, Bryan, Leslie Buroker; son, John P. Buroker & husband, Jim Morgan; grandchildren, Blair Smith & wife, Ashley, Logan Smith and Trystin Smith; great-grandchildren, Briar Rose and Cooper Henry; sister, Sondra Wilmot & husband, Larry; brother-in-law, Jerry Murray; nephews, Jerry Murray, Rich Murray, Dave Murray and Mark Wilmot.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Pam Murray, and nephew, Brady Wilmot.
Visitation for Rick will be from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. A memorial service will begin at 7:00 p.m.
