Mr. John L. Snarr, 94, of Richmond, passed away on Thursday, February 16 at Friends Fellowship Community.
   He was born in Salem, Indiana on December 4, 1922 to Marvin and Daisy Voyles Snarr, both of whom preceded him in death. He moved to Wayne County in 1927 and was a 1941 graduate of Fountain City High School. He was a US Army Air Corps veteran of World War Two.
   Mr. Snarr was a member of the First Baptist Church in Richmond. From 1949-1975, he co-owned Snarr Brothers Masonry, Inc., working alongside his brother, Paul, in the construction of many buildings in the area. He was a Life Member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers Local #4 and was a member of Harry Ray American Legion Post 65. He enjoyed bowling and watching sports.
   Mr. Snarr will be missed by his wife of 44 years, Imogene Ross Snarr; sons, Richard Snarr and his wife, Karen, and Gregory Snarr and his wife, Vicki; daughters, Judy Scott and her husband, Ronald; Jacqueline Jones and her husband, Phillip; step-daughter, Sharon Miller and her husband, Monte; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a brother, Paul Snarr.
   Mr. Snarr was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Julia McQuiston and Helen Meyer; and sister-in-law, Dolores Snarr.
   Rev. James Spon will conduct a memorial ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 23 at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.
   Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, at the funeral home.
