Joyce Martin

Joyce Martin, 79, of Williamsburg, passed away in the comfort of her home on Thursday evening, September 24.

Joyce was born on December 25, 1946, in Harrison, Ohio to Roy & Martha A. Frye Branstetter.

Joyce was currently the owner of Envirotech. She formerly was a public welfare case worker for many years and worked in offices in Richmond, Winchester and Cincinnati. She took pride in her home, which she kept in immaculate condition, and in the flower gardens she tended outside. She loved her family and extended family and was always the first to step up and care for anyone whose illness or convalescence required extra attention. She loved dancing to her favorite music and taking shopping trips.

Joyce will be missed by her daughters & sons-in-law, Mary & Mark Kendall, Marla & Scott Raines, Lisa & Daniel Schwegman; sons & daughters-in-law, Jason Martin, Ken & Mary Martin; 22 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandson; sisters, Edna Peters and Judy Hulett; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 35 years, Jerry Martin, in 2020; sons, Lee Martin in 2023 and Ron Martin in 2024; sisters, Carol Locke and Dovey Higa; brothers, Roy Wayne Branstetter and Moses Branstetter.

Joyce’s life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Cemetery.

Family & friends may gather for visitation from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, at the funeral home.
