Joyce Street

Joyce Street, 84, formerly of Fountain City, passed away at home on Monday morning, April 14.

She was born in Richmond, Indiana on November 1, 1940 to Howard C. & Ruby L. Weatherly Thomas. She married Larry Street on March 21, 1959. They shared nearly 59 years of marriage until Larry’s death on January 20, 2018.

Joyce was a beloved mom and granny. She always had time for her children and grandchildren. Joyce was a caregiver to most of her grandchildren, and spent countless hours playing board games, beauty shop and baseball. Joyce could always be counted on to be at the sideline of any activity or sport her grands participated in. Joyce was a member of Lifespring Church until she was unable to attend any longer due to health concerns.

Joyce will be missed by her daughters, Karen Sutton and her husband, Don; Teresa Schnick and her husband, Bryan; Julie Wisecup and her husband, David; and Susan Jones and her husband, Scott; 11 grandchildren, Donnie Sutton, Ryan Seal, Jennifer Romack, Erin Ullery, Hunter Wisecup, Allison Parks, Cole Wisecup, Emily Jones, Owen Jones, Madison Jones and Isaac Jones; 6 great-grandchildren, Carlie Bailey, Logan Seal, Kaleb Moore, Elin Seal, Venus Wisecup and Vada Wisecup; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Zoe Kennedy and Teegan Peed; and several nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Larry Street; granddaughter, Becky Sutton; sisters, Mary Study and Barbara Taylor; brothers, Howard “Bud” Thomas, Jr., Robert Thomas and Richard Thomas.

Joyce’s life will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 19 at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.

Family and friends may gather from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, at the funeral home.
