Warren Keith Harris, 90, of Fountain City, passed away Tuesday, June 18, at his residence.
   He was born on March 20, 1923 in Richmond to George and Henrietta Hovelmeier Harris. He graduated from Centerville High School in 1941. He entered the US Army in 1943. He landed at Normandy on D-Day, June 6, 1944 and also participated in the campaign to liberate Northern France. He was honorably discharged on Christmas Eve 1945. He re-entered the Army in 1950 to serve in the Korean, where he participated in three separate campaigns.
   Mr. Harris farmed all of his life and was a 42-year employee of Wayne Corp. in Richmond. He raised miniature horses and rabbits for many years and enjoyed woodworking, restoring antique farm tractors and helping other farmers. He was a member of the Whitewater Christian Church.
   Mr. Harris will be missed by his wife, the former Janet Austerman, whom he married on June 28, 1952;  daughters & sons-in-law, Diana & Jim Cox, of Williamsburg; Denise & Larry Thomas, of New Carlisle, Ohio; Jennifer & Troy Bledsoe, of Fountain City; son, Gary Harris and his friend, Jean Austerman, of Fountain City; 10 grandchildren, Christopher, Kevin, Nathan and Stephen Cox, Tricia and Trent Harris, Melissa Sparks, Matthew Thomas, Meghan Hollinger and Seth Bledsoe; 4 great-grandchildren, Jaya,  Arya and T.J. Cox and Emma Bledsoe-Ryan; sister, Etta Jane Tiemann, of Richmond; brothers, Merle Harris, of Cookeville, Tennessee and Larry Harris, of Warsaw; and several nieces & nephews.
   Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Louise Creech and Millie Thompson.
   A funeral ceremony will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 21, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment with military rites will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.
   Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, at the funeral home.
