Larry D. Catron, 50, passed away Monday, March 30, 2009 at his residence.
Born September 29, 1958 in Richmond, he was the son of Obie and Evelyn Hurt Catron. He graduated Northeastern High School in 1977. He drove over-the-road trucks for 22 years before settling in to factory work, most recently with Osborne in Richmond. He was active with his daughters with 4-H when they were growing up and enjoyed attending antique tractor shows and truck shows. He enjoyed camping and attended Galilean Baptist Church in Centerville.
Larry will be missed by his mother, Evelyn Catron, of Centerville; 2 daughters, Tamar Woodruff, of Centerville; Megan Proffitt and her husband, Matt, of Connersville; 4 grandchildren, Kelsey Woodruff, Allison Fegan, Malorie Woodruff and Obie Proffitt; 1 brother, David Catron and his wife, Pamela, of Williamsburg; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Obie, on September 1, 1996.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted by Pastor Jimmy Slaven at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 3 at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, at the funeral home.
