Lois Ladd

Lois Ann Ladd, 95, of Williamsburg, passed away on Thursday, January 1, in the comfort of her home and in the presence of her family.

She was born on June 1, 1930, in Wayne County, Indiana to Marshall Edward & Catherine Rosemond Hopping Laymon. Lois was a 1949 graduate of Williamsburg High School. She and James Ladd were married on September 17, 1949, and began union that would be blessed with eight children.

Lois devoted her life to her family. She enjoyed watching their activities and being an active part of their lives.

Lois will be missed by her children, Michael “Toby” Ladd, Susan Ladd, Joe Ladd & his wife, Mary T; Tom Ladd & his wife, Michelle, and Mary Dowler; daughter-in-law Geneva Ladd; 15 grandkids, 27 great-grandkids and 4 great-great-grandkids.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jim, in 2013; sons, Dennis Ladd, in 1996 and James “Jamie” Ladd, in 2009; daughter, Amy Ladd, in 2019 granddaughter, Brandi Renee Ladd; grandson, Joshua Tobias Ladd and a great-grandson, Cooper Nelson.

Family & friends may gather for visitation from 4-6 p.m. on Monday, January 5, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City.

Pastor Brian Richmond will conduct a funeral ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 6, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are encouraged for the Williamsburg Community Center, PO Box 145, Williamsburg, IN 47393.
