Loretta Suzanne Coates

Loretta Suzanne Coates, age 78, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away peacefully on September 27th at home, surrounded by her family following a short battle with cancer. She was born April 27, 1948, in Richmond, Indiana to Christine and Glenn Chenoweth.

Loretta built a life centered around her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted parent to Stephanie and Stephen (Dezi) Coates, and a beloved grandmother to Jordan Johnting and Daulton, Clayton, Bryson and Teddy Coates. She was the eldest of three daughters and leaves two sisters; Lawanna (Jim) Burkhart and Toni Taylor. She is preceded in death by her parents Christine and Glenn Chenoweth.

She was the heart of our family, offering unconditional love, steady encouragement, and a home filled with warmth. Her greatest joy came from caring for her family and celebrating life's everyday moments together and the companionship of her beloved animals (rescued, ALWAYS the best).

Her legacy, and without a doubt what she will be remembered for, was her love for natural healing (energy, herbals and food) and her ability to supply every person she encountered with sweet home-made treats!!

She will be remembered by many for her kind smile, resilience, and the way she lived with such intention and joy for her family. As they once said, “Life is about the energy you bring and the healing you leave behind.”

At her request, there will not be any service or visitation.
