Marcena "Cricket" Henemyre

Marcena “Cricket” Henemyre, 77, Richmond, passed away on Thursday evening, August 7, 2025, at Willows of Richmond.

She was born on July 20, 1948, to Ernest & Mary Elizabeth Sipe Thurston. She was a graduate of Fountain City High School. Cricket formerly worked in manufacturing and was a homemaker. She liked to watch reruns of M*A*S*H and old Westerns, and play with her dog, Bear-Bear.

Cricket is survived by her children, Tonja Mize, Susie Cassady and Ronnie Henemyre; 13 grandchildren including twins Rebecca Lynn and Melissa Lynn Cassady, with whom she shared the same birthday’ several great-grandchildren, sister, Candy McClure; brother, Michael Thurston and nieces & nephews.

Cricket was preceded in death by her parents, son, Steven Henemyre, and sister Angela Patton.

A memorial gathering will be held from 12-2 p.m. on Sunday, August 24, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 South US Hwy. 27, Fountain City.
