Margaret Bartlett

Mrs. Margaret Bartlett, age 92, passed away at 5:45 p.m. on Monday, October 1, 2007 at Reid Hospital.


She was born May 20, 1915, in Lynn, Indiana, the daughter of Paul and Mae Morton Thorn, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and farm wife, working alongside her husband of 70 years, Herman Bartlett, who preceded her in death on April 7, 2006. Mrs. Bartlett was formerly involved in Homemakers clubs in Economy and Carlos and enjoyed completing ceramics and other crafts projects.


Mrs. Bartlett will be missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Lex and Linda Bartlett, of Economy; 4 grandchildren, Charlotte Bartlett, Charlie Bartlett, Chris Bartlett and Carla Combs; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild as well as several nieces and nephews.


In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Bartlett was preceded in death by a daughter, JoAnn Tucker; 2 sisters, Alice Williams and Mable Hanley; and 1 brother, Dave Thorn.


A funeral ceremony was conducted by Rev. Max Knight at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 5, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment was in Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester.
