Margaret M. Corbett, 91, of the Webster community, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 25, at Heritage House of Richmond.
She was born on July 1, 1924 in Webster Township to Herschel D and Edna Albin Jay. She was a 1942 graduate of Webster High School. She worked in many capacities for the State of Indiana prior to her retirement as deputy claims manager from the Indiana State Employment Office in Richmond after 46 years of service. She enjoyed people watching, music, dancing, bowling, swimming and bird watching.
Mrs. Corbett will be missed by her husband of nearly 44 years, Robert J. Corbett, whom she married on October 1, 1971; daughter & son-in-law, Debbie & Dan Peterson; son & daughter-in-law, Rick & Jana Jay; three granddaughters, one grandson; sister, Marilyn Clarke; brother, Stuart Jay and several nieces & nephews.
Mrs. Corbett was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Janet Wright; and brother, Melville Jay.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Webster Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, September 28, at the funeral home.
