Margaret E. Starr

Mrs. Margaret E. Starr, 82, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Heritage House of Richmond.


She was born December 20, 1926 in Madison County, Kentucky to Ernest Gilbert and Ethel Todd Tudor, both of whom preceded her in death. She graduated Williamsburg High School in 1944. She shared nearly 48 years of marriage to Herschel D. Starr from July 22, 1945 until his death on July 19, 1993. She retired from NATCO in 1982, where she worked as a secretary since 1963. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was a Past President of the Rose City Chapter of the American Business Women's Association.


Mrs. Starr is survived by her 2 sons, Jon Starr, Williamsburg; Kevin Starr, Winchester; 1 daughter, Mary E. Starr, Indianapolis; 1 sister, Mary Waltz, Fort Wayne; 4 grandchildren, Tricia Starr, Kendra Brown and her husband, Eddie; Jon Michael Starr II and Cameron Starr; 2 great-grandchildren, Madison Brown and Nolan Brown and several nieces and nephews.


A graveside ceremony will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 15 at the Williamsburg Cemetery. There will be no public calling.
