She was born in Winchester, Indiana on November 17, 1947, to Noble M. & Phyllis A. Delucio Sheppard. She attended Spartanburg High School through her Junior and was a 1965 graduate of the newly completed Randolph Southern High School. She later attended business school in Fort Wayne. Marilyn married Thomas E. Delk on August 20, 1966. They were blessed with 60 years of marriage and two children.

Marilyn formerly worked as a computer operator at Maul Brothers in Winchester. She left the workforce when her family started growing. Marilyn later accepted a position as a Doctor’s Assistant for orthopedic surgeons Dr. Gibson, Dr. Park, Dr. Miller, and Dr. Fiedor.

Marilyn had many interests that kept her active. She always enjoyed watching and doing activities with her grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Spartanburg Christian Church. Marilyn played the piano and organ, preferably when she thought nobody was around. Her desserts were a favorite course of the many meals she cooked for family and friends. She helped the Fountain City Fire Dept. secure pies to sell during Levi Coffin Days. Marilyn was also a tireless member of the Willow Grove Cemetery Association, for which she served as Secretary and was often seen on the grounds tidying whatever needed attention.

Marilyn will be missed by her husband, Tom Delk; children, Shari Hinshaw & husband, Dave; Jeff Delk & companion, Amanda Shinn; grandchildren, Travis Delk & companion, Delaney DeMuyt, Serena Hinshaw and Wyatt Shinn; great-grandchildren, Laine Delk, Noble Delk and Jace Delk; aunt, Lorene Sue Stallings & husband, George; uncle, Bob Delucio; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will also be missed by her two best friends, cousin, Susie Glover and childhood friend for life, Diana Cowen.
