Martha E. Hill, 99, of Fountain City, passed away on Thursday, August 10 at Arbor Trace.
   She was born on March 31, 1918 in Henry County, Indiana to Martin L. and Maude Garner Cox. She married Harold Hill on November 23, 1935. They were blessed with eight children and shared 54 years together until his death on January 12, 1990.
   Mrs. Hill was the oldest living member of the Arba Friends Church. She was a homemaker and also worked in the dietary department of Reid Memorial Hospital. She also had worked at Trade-a-Book and Wendy’s. She was formerly active in the Arba USFW and was a 4-H leader.
   Mrs. Hill was very loving to her fellow residents as well as the nursing staff and became a favorite person by many to sit beside.
   Mrs. Hill will be missed by her daughters, Joan Nicholson and her husband, Jim, Sue Duvall and her husband, Bob, Karen Hicks and her husband, Mike, and Brenda Hill and her companion, Helen Clemens; sons, Dan Hill and his wife, Gloria, Duane Hill and his wife, Joyce, Bob Hill and his wife, Susan, and Rex Hill; 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, two step great-great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
   Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her parents and siblings LaVaughn Moffett Farnum, Lucille Bunce, Arthur Cox, Dorothy Gibbs, Willard Cox, Robert Cox and Joyce White.
   Rev. Brooks Martin and Rev. Gene Mosier will conduct a funeral ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 15, at the Arba Friends Church, 10632 South Arba Pike. Interment will follow in Hollansburg Cemetery.
   Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, August 14, at the church.
