Marvin A. Frame, 67, passed away Sunday, September 30, at Reid Hospital.
Marvin was born March 9, 1940, in Wayne County, Indiana, the son of Bob and Henrietta Frame. He was a 1958 graduate of Fountain City High School. He was united in marriage to the former Vera Gregory on November 1, 1959, a union which was blessed with three sons. Marvin lived most of his life in the Williamsburg community and farmed his entire life on the family farm. He was an avid horseman, competing many years in barrel racing, as a jockey aboard Quarter horses and training horses for others. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed watching his son's and grandchildren's activities. He enjoyed camping with his family and fishing. He had served area youth as a 4-H leader and youth basketball coach. His active and competitive nature often pulled him from the sidelines to compete alongside his family in events ranging from 5K and 10K races up to triathlons, where he was always a contender in his division. He recently completed the Indy 500 Mini-marathon on May 6, 2007, where he proudly recorded his personal record time for that event. Besides farming, Marvin was formerly employed at NATCO for 20 years. He then went to work at Delaware Machine Tool in Muncie, where he retired in 2002 after 15 years of service. Marvin was a faithful and active attendee of the Williamsburg Church of the Nazarene and was a life member of the American Quarter Horse Association.
Marvin will be missed by his wife of nearly 48 years, Vera Frame; his father, Bob Frame, of Richmond; 3 sons, Dean Frame and his wife, Susan, of Centerville; Dennis Frame and his fiancee, Tracey McDermitt, of Williamsburg and Dion Frame and his wife, Wanda, of Brownsburg; 6 grandchildren, Ryan, Megan, Dylan, Daria, Julia and Lucas; 1 sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Filbert Horner, of Richmond; 1 brother and sister-in-law, David and Joan Frame, of Williamsburg; his uncle, Herschel Frame, of Lynn and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. Marvin's absence will also be felt by his faithful companions, dogs Mac and Stubbs.
Marvin was preceded in death by his mother, Henrietta Frame, on August 19, 2007.
A funeral ceremony was conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 4, at the Williamsburg Church of the Nazarene, 8503 Pleasant Street, Williamsburg. Interment was in Webster Cemetery.
