Maxine Ward

Maxine Ward, 75, of Spartanburg, passed away on Tuesday, February 27 at Pine Knoll in Winchester.
   Born on September 11, 1942 in Randolph County, she was the daughter of Glen and Wanda B. Woods Arthur. She was a 1960 graduate of Spartanburg High School and became the bride of John E. Ward on February 11, 1962.
   Maxine was a member of the Spartanburg Christian Church. She was retired from Anchor Hocking after 26 years of service.
   Maxine will be missed by her husband of 56 years, John Ward; brothers-in-law, Bob Ward, Lawson Ward, Jr. and Martin Ward; two nieces and several cousins.
   Maxine was preceded in death by her parents a brother, Franklin Arthur.
   At Maxine’s request, a public graveside ceremony will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 5, in Spartanburg Cemetery.
   No public visitation is planned.
   The Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, Fountain City, was entrusted by Maxine.
