Melinda Carender

Melinda Sue Carender, 73, of Williamsburg, passed away at Reid Health on Friday, September 18.

She was born in Syracuse, New York on July 12, 1953, to Elwood Menzo & Marjorie Louise Mahler Osborne. She was a 1971 graduate of Charles W. Baker High School in Baldwinsville, New York.

Melinda was formerly an administrative assistant for Coca-Cola in Phoenix, Arizona. She later was a mail carrier for the US Postal Service. Most recently, she was a chauffeur for the Amish community. Melinda enjoyed crocheting and making things to give to friends.

Melinda is survived by her husband of 29 years, Alan L. Carender, whom she married on July 18, 1997; her sons, Paul Haskell and Tim Henning; Alan’s children, Shane Carender, Jedediah Carender, Sharon Carender and Ashley (Brian) Hart; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Melanie, Renae and Marsha.

Melinda was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Chad Haskell.

Visitation for Melinda will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, September 25, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US Highway 27, Fountain City.
