Millie Pennington

   Millie C. Pennington, 92, formerly of Fountain City, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Maple Park Senior Care in Westfield, Indiana.

   She was born in Byrdstown, Tennessee on February 19, 1931 to Robert Lee & Donna Ella Glass Brannum. She married Delbert Pennington on May 5, 1951. They were blessed with 4 sons and 66 years together before Mr. Pennington’s death on December 18, 2017. She was a stay-at-home mom but did briefly work at Avco and Alcoa in Richmond, Indiana. She enjoyed working in her yard and cooking for her family. Her greatest love was her children and grandchildren.

   Millie will be missed by her sons, Mike Pennington and wife, Barb; Ronnie Pennington and wife, Jo, and Donnie Pennington; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

   She was preceded in death by her parents, son, David R. “Bobby” Pennington; brothers, Edward Brannum, Clayton Brannum and Curtis Branum; sisters, Flora (Clarice) Rayborn and Lucille Pennington.

   Mrs. Pennington’s life will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 10 at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.

   Family and friends may gather from 11:00 a.m. –1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, at the funeral home.
