Mrs. Norma Jean Brown, 76, formerly of Whitewater, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 20.
She was born on May 24, 1939 to Dennie and Marie Street Cross. She was united in marriage to Thomas Brown on July 2, 1958, and they were blessed with three children.
Mrs. Brown retired from Sears after over 20 years of service. She was a faithful member of the Whitewater Christian Church. She enjoyed knitting and loved spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren’s activities. Her yeast rolls, potato salad and pies were a hit at every family or church dinner she brought them to.
Mrs. Brown will be missed by her husband, Tom; sons & daughters-in-law, Randy & Chris Brown and Roger & Jody Brown; daughter, Beth Brown-Sebert; grandchildren, Lindsey Rust, Matt Brown, Libby Siders, Willie Brown and Faith Sebert; great-grandson, Charlie Rust; brothers, Mike Brooke and Gayle Cross; her best friend, Beverly Lahrman and several nieces & nephews.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sue Hicks and brothers, Alvin “Junior†Cross and Bill Cross.
Pastor Troy Beckner will conduct a funeral ceremony at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Goshen Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Whitewater Christian Church, 7918 North State Road 227, Richmond, IN 47374.
