Patricia S. Shank

Patricia S Shank, age 84, of Richmond went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 11, 2018. She was born in Lynn, Indiana on December 23, 1933 to Floyd Jack and Faye Margaret (Cummings) Horner.  She was a 1951 graduate of Fountain City High School and lived most of her life in Fountain City, Indiana. She married Charles “Ray” Shank Jr on May 28, 1955 and they were blessed with two daughters and 51 years of marriage until his death in 2006. She was a faithful member of St Mary’s Catholic Church. Pat worked at The Light Company in Richmond, Overmyer Mould Company, and Selective Service, before co-owning the Newport Inn in Fountain City with her sister Nancy Oler Fackson.

Pat will be missed by daughters Julie Shank and Beth (Jim) Low; grandchildren Lauren (Sava) Nevzuroff, Cody (Lori) Brookshear, and Megan Brookshear; great grandchildren Benjamin Crawford, Dallas Brookshear and Corinne Brookshear; sister Nancy Oler Fackson and many friends including her traveling buddy Irene Clevenger.  She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Pat was one of the original decorators of the tree at the corner of Backmeyer Rd and 37th St in Richmond and loved decorating the tree along with family and friends. This tradition will be lovingly continued by her family.

Father Kevin Morris will officiate a funeral ceremony at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday July 14, 2018 at Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27, Fountain City.  Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.  Family and friends may gather for visitation from 11:00 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. on Saturday July 14, at the funeral home.
