Patricia “Pat†Shinn Courter, 67, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully April 5, 2018.
She was born June 8, 1950 in Richmond, Indiana to Robert and Thelma Shae Shinn.
Pat worked at Esterline Angus as a Programmer, then Basic American Medical as a Programmer Analyst before retiring in 1992. She spent 10 years as a pre-school teacher at Acton Methodist Church as well. Pat enjoyed golf, bowling, tennis, racquet ball, poker and being generally active with her silver slippers friends but mostly enjoyed being with her husband of 35 years and their family.
She is survived by her husband, Harry Courter; father, Robert Shinn; step-son, Brad Courter and his wife, Jane; 2 grandsons, Elliott and Matthew Courter; step-sister, Shawn Rhoades and her husband, Brad; and many extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Shinn and brothers, Monte and Michael Shinn.
Visitation and a funeral service will be 9-11 am Wednesday, April 11 at Little & Sons Funeral Home Colonial Chapel, 4901 E Stop 11 Rd. Indianapolis, IN with the service at 11am.
A service will follow at 2 pm Wednesday, April 11 at Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27, Fountain City, Indiana, with burial following in Willow Grove Cemetery in Fountain City.
