Phyllis Lewis

Phyllis L. Lewis, 85, of Lynn, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2.

She was born on April 28, 1941, in Anderson, Indiana to John Lester & Ardeth M. Lamb Hunley.

Mrs. Lewis was a member of the New Liberty Christian Church near Lynn. Her life revolved around her family.

Mrs. Lewis will be missed by her children, Jeffrey Lewis & wife, Patricia, Timothy Lewis & wife, Anita, Stacey Lewis & wife, Sheila, Dawn Johnson & husband, Chris, Kara Harris & husband, Steve; 15 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Hunley, and several nieces & nephews.

Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 57 years, Cleo Oliver Lewis, who she married on February 24, 1959, and who passed away on September 8, 2016; siblings, Wilbur Lee Hunley, Lester Maurice Hunley, Sheila LeAnn Drew, John L. Hunley, Sr., Raymond Lee Hunley, Paul Morton Hunley, Carol Sue Jarrett, Rita E. Pettinichio, Viola Hutzler, Lesta Butler and Lonnie David Hunley.

Phyllis’s family is grateful for the care she received from the hospice team at Reid Health.

Visitation for Mrs. Lewis will be from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, at New Liberty Christian Church 605 West 700 South. Family may gather after 12:30. Following visitation, Pastor Dale Bales will conduct a homegoing celebration. Interment will follow in New Liberty Cemetery.
