My sincerest condolences to all members of the Meek family.  I met Gary in 1966 during the summer when we worked together at Continental Can Co. We quickly became friends.  We decided to join the Air Force together on the buddy system so that we could go through basic training together which we did. We spent all our off duty time together both in the barracks and all over Lackland Air Force base.  On Sundays we went to a Southern Baptist Church.  Lost track of each other after leaving basic training.  I ended up being a weather equipment repairman.  Gary was a very caring man way back then.  Once again I am sorry for your loss.  Having been widowed in 2011 I know well the feelings of loss and the time it takes to heal.

For a man to open his home and family to a troubled teen is one of the biggest sacrifices that I will ever encounter in my lifetime.
The lessons you have taught me, the love that you showed, I will take with me on my journey through life.
I hope to one day see you again, I wasnt there when you left, but hope to see you when I take the same trip.

Godspeed Gary, Friend, Dad
