Robert Brown

   Mr. Robert F. Brown, 95, formerly of Richmond, passed away on Friday, January 19.

   He was born on October 14, 1928, in Wayne County, Indiana, to Clarence H. & Mary L. Williams Brown. Robert was a graduate of Whitewater High School and Earlham College. He was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War.

   Robert enjoyed a 26-year career with Richmond Baking Company. Beginning in 1992, he rose through the company to become its president in 1984. He retired in 1988 to devote more time to lifelong avid passion, playing golf.

   Robert was a member of West Richmond Friends Meeting and Whitewater Masonic Lodge #159. He was an active community servant and leader at both the local and state levels in Indiana. He was past-president of the Richmond Y-Men’s Club, past-president of the Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce, board member of the Indiana State Chamber of Commerce, past-president of the IU East Chapter of the National Accounting Association, past-president of Forest Hills Country Club, board member of the Indiana State Golf Association and the Elks Lodge.

   While living in Florida, he was a member of the Golf Hammock Men’s Golf Association, where he served on the finance committee.  

   Mr. Brown will be missed by his daughter, Lora Brown Money, one niece and two nephews.

   He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Christeen Mikesell Brown, in 2016; his parents; and brother, William Norval Brown, in 2023.

   Private interment will take place in Willow Grove Cemetery, Fountain City.
