Robert J. Reckers, 75, of Fountain City, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2014.
He was born in Washington, Indiana on May 24, 1939 to John William and Kathleen Imogene Mattingly Reckers. He worked at Rodefeld’s for many years, where he was a parts manager and machinist, and was active in the YMI and the Knights of St. John. He attended Holy Family Catholic Church.
Mr. Reckers is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Jenny & Ron Tinkle and Vickie & Ross Bennett; son, Joe Reckers; step-daughters, Brenda Williams, Beth Williams and Bonnie Newby; sisters, Judy Smith, Margie Reckers, Ruth Ann McDaniel, Sue Hinshaw, Carolyn Mansfield and Marilyn Burgoon; brother, Tom Reckers; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Reckers was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Thelma Reckers; sister, Janice Harris; brother, Jack Reckers and step-son, William Williams.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon – 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Following visitation, Deacon Frank Roberts will conduct a graveside ceremony in Willow Grove Cemetery.
